It's not always possible to capture what you want
8 min 25 sec, HD video with sound.
There are some places in the world where,
despite the noise,
a kind of silence exists.
A chance encounter. A crossing of paths. A sunset slipping away.
Filmed from a mobile phone, this work plays with the limits of digital texture—what can be captured, what disappears. Cruise liners drift past, figures shrink against the vastness of the sea and sky. The image wobbles, pixels break apart, the zoom strains for clarity, but it’s never quite a substitute for the real thing.
The slow pulse of the Sea Organ blends with voices—talking, laughing, splashing into water. At times, words surface; at others, they dissolve into distance.
A film about presence and impermanence. About what we hold onto, and what quietly slips away.
